Former FBI Supervisory Special Agent brings record of $1 billion-plus fraud prosecutions and 21 years of complex financial crime expertise to Law & Forensics client engagements
WASHINGTON, D.C., 2025 — Law & Forensics LLC is pleased to announce that Jeremy S. Desor has joined the firm as Senior Consultant, bringing more than two decades of federal investigative experience in complex financial crime to Law & Forensics clients. Desor concluded a 21-year career as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 2025 and simultaneously founded Investigative Solutions, LLC, a private investigative consultancy based in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. During his FBI career, Desor served in field offices in Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C., as well as at FBI Headquarters, where he served as Supervisory Special Agent overseeing the complex financial crime program and acting as the Bureau's liaison to the Securities and Exchange Commission. Across his career, Desor led investigations resulting in criminal charges against more than 100 individuals and victim losses exceeding $1 billion, and directly recovered more than $45 million for victims through asset seizures and forfeiture proceedings. Among his landmark cases, Desor dismantled a $300-million-plus international investment fraud conspiracy operated through global call centers, resulting in charges against 38 individuals and 25 convictions. He led a major market manipulation investigation of a China-based public company that inflated its value from $20 million to $1 billion before losing 94 percent of its value in a single day, resulting in charges against two individuals and the seizure of $10 million. He also uncovered a $60 million investment fraud and money laundering scheme leading to the seizure of more than 40 vehicles, 20 financial accounts, luxury assets, and six real estate properties. His investigative work secured arrests and extraditions of defendants from five countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Greece, Hungary, Israel, and Ukraine. (Source)
Desor's professional recognitions include the FBI Medal of Excellence, the FBI Exceptional Performance Award, the FBI Quality Step Increase Award for Outstanding Service, and the U.S. Attorney's Office Public Service Award. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Dartmouth College and maintains an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance. (Source)
At Law & Forensics, Desor advises on complex financial crime investigations, securities fraud, money laundering and asset tracing, cryptocurrency fraud, employee misconduct and internal investigations, litigation support, and expert witness engagements.
" Jeremy's 21-year FBI career is one of the most accomplished financial crime records we have seen — more than $1 billion in charged fraud, $45 million recovered for victims, and cases that reached across five countries," said Daniel Garrie, Co-Founder of Law & Forensics. "His blend of federal investigative authority, courtroom experience, and deep capital markets knowledge is an extraordinary addition to our clients' toolkit for complex financial crime matters."
" After 21 years building cases that put fraudsters in prison and recovered money for victims, I'm excited to bring that experience directly to bear for clients on the civil and private side," said Jeremy Desor. "The issues I worked at the FBI — securities fraud, investment fraud, money laundering, crypto — are exactly the kinds of matters that Law & Forensics clients face."
