Accessibility

Law & Forensics LLC is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who navigate with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or other assistive technology. Our target standard is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, which includes everything required by WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Conformance status

This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means most of the site meets the standard, and the parts that do not are listed below rather than left for you to discover. This is a self-assessment: it has not been certified by an independent auditor, and we do not yet publish a VPAT.

Measures we take

Structure. Semantic HTML with landmark regions, a single descriptive page heading, and a heading outline that follows the reading order. Every article heading carries a stable id so any section can be linked or cited directly.
Keyboard. All interactive controls are reachable and operable by keyboard. The mobile menu closes on Esc, makes the page behind it inert while open, and returns focus to the button that opened it. Content hidden behind the report form is removed from the tab order rather than left as invisible tab stops.
Focus visibility. A single two-tone focus indicator — a dark ring with a light halo — is defined once for the whole site, so it stays visible on our light surfaces and on the dark navy bands. Fixed elements such as the cookie banner reserve space so they cannot sit on top of whatever you have focused.
Contrast. Body text, link text, form labels, and placeholder text are measured against both of the site’s background families (white and cream) and meet at least 4.5:1 on each.
Motion. Movement respects your operating system’s reduced-motion setting, and the scrolling headline ticker has an explicit pause control.
Input. Form fields and menus use a text size that does not force an unrequested zoom on mobile Safari, and we size interactive targets to a minimum of 44 × 44 CSS pixels.
Third-party content by request only. Video players and analytics load only after you ask for them, so pages do not change under you on load.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following gaps. We list them because you may hit them, and because a statement that omits them would not be accurate.

Video captions and transcripts (WCAG 1.2.2, 1.2.3). Videos featured on this site are published on a third-party channel operated by the Legal Cyber Academy. Where captions exist they are the platform’s automatic captions, which are not a substitute for authored captions, and we do not currently publish transcripts alongside the embeds. If you need the content of any video, contact us and we will provide it in writing.
Embedded video player controls (WCAG 2.1.1, 1.4.11). Once you choose to load a video, the player interface is the third party’s and is outside our control. A direct link to each video is always provided beneath the player.
Articles migrated from our previous site. Several hundred pre-2026 articles were imported from our former platform. The page structure around them meets the standard, but image alternative text, table markup, and heading order inside that older body copy have not each been individually reviewed.
Documents. Reports and other downloadable documents are not guaranteed to meet PDF/UA. Contact us and we will supply an accessible alternative.
Independent verification. Our assessment combines automated testing with manual keyboard, screen-reader, and contrast review. It is not a substitute for a third-party audit, which we have not yet commissioned.

What we are doing about it

Publishing authored captions or written transcripts for featured video.
Reviewing the migrated article archive for alternative text and heading order.
Adding an automated accessibility scan across all published pages to our release checks, so regressions are caught before they ship rather than at the next review.
Commissioning an independent audit and publishing the result, including a VPAT.
Re-testing this site against WCAG 2.2 Level AA at least annually, and after any significant redesign, and updating this page in the same change.

How we assess this site

Assessment is by self-evaluation, carried out by our own team, and is primarily manual: keyboard-only navigation, screen-reader testing, and contrast ratios computed from the site’s actual colour values against every background it places them on. That manual work is backed by one automated safeguard in our own codebase: a regression test suite that fails the build if specific defects we have already fixed reappear. We do not currently run an automated accessibility scanner across every published page, and adding one is on the list below. The review behind this statement was completed in August 2026 and covered the site’s global navigation and footer, page templates, forms, filtering and search controls, and content pages.
