21-year FBI career recognized for prosecuting fraud conspiracies responsible for more than $1 billion in victim losses

Desor's career at the FBI — spanning field offices in Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C., as well as a supervisory role at FBI Headquarters — produced one of the Bureau's most accomplished financial crime records. He led investigations resulting in criminal charges against more than 100 individuals, with victim losses exceeding $1 billion across those cases combined. Through asset seizures and forfeiture proceedings, his work directly recovered more than $45 million for victims.
Among his most significant accomplishments, Desor dismantled a $300-million-plus international investment fraud conspiracy operated through global call centers, resulting in charges against 38 individuals and 25 convictions to date. He also led a market manipulation investigation of a China-based public company, resulting in charges against two individuals and the seizure of $10 million, and uncovered a $60 million investment fraud and money laundering scheme that resulted in the seizure of more than 40 vehicles, 20 bank accounts, luxury assets, and six real estate properties.
In addition to the FBI Medal of Excellence, Desor received the FBI Exceptional Performance Award, the FBI Quality Step Increase Award for Outstanding Service, and the U.S. Attorney's Office Public Service Award.
