Garrie is a named inventor on U.S. Patent No. 11,354,414, "Method to Scan a Forensic Image of a Computer System With Multiple Malicious Code Detection Engines Simultaneously From a Master Control Point," granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patented method allows an examiner to analyze both active and deleted files within a duplicate forensic image of a computer system for known forms of malicious code using many malware-detection engines at once, coordinated from a single software control point. By running dozens of commercial and open-source detection engines in parallel rather than sequentially, the approach is designed to reduce scan time while increasing the likelihood of detection by combining the knowledge of multiple vendors.
